Oxygen Advantage® is a method of functional breathing: nasal breathing, light breathing and breath holds that improve how the body uses oxygen and regulates itself. Functional Range Conditioning (FRC®) trains controlled, pain-free mobility at the joints. The session combines both, with precision and care.

Fifty minutes of breath and joint control

The session opens with a breathing assessment and light nasal breathing to calm the system. Then the FRC® block: controlled articular rotations and isometric work at the end of each joint range, slow and exact.

Breath holds come next, built up gradually, to train carbon dioxide tolerance and the way the body responds to effort. Your teacher explains each exercise and the reason behind it; nothing is done on faith.

The last minutes are quiet breathing and a review of what to practise at home. Fourteen places, in the Aura Room.

What is Oxygen Advantage®?

Oxygen Advantage® is a breath training method developed by Patrick McKeown. It works with nasal breathing, reduced or light breathing and breath holds to improve how the body delivers and uses oxygen. The central idea is tolerance to carbon dioxide: a body that tolerates more CO₂ breathes less, calmer and more efficiently, at rest and under effort. The method is used by endurance athletes and by people who simply breathe too much, too high and through the mouth.

What is FRC®?

Functional Range Conditioning (FRC®) is a system of mobility training developed by Dr Andreo Spina. It builds usable, controlled range of motion at each joint through controlled articular rotations, isometric work at the end of the range and progressive loading. The goal is not flexibility for its own sake but joints that move further and stay healthy under load.

What happens in a session at Anida Lab

Sessions in the Aura Room last fifty minutes and take up to fourteen people. They open with a breathing assessment and light nasal breathing to calm the system, then the FRC® block: controlled rotations and isometric work at the end of each joint range, slow and exact. Breath holds follow, built up gradually, to train CO₂ tolerance and the body's response to effort. The last minutes are quiet breathing and a review of what to practise at home.

What changes with regular practice

Calmer and lighter breathing at rest and under effort, joints that move further and more safely, better self-regulation under stress and sustainable movement patterns for everyday life and sport. Runners and cyclists often notice the change first in training: the same pace at a lower breathing rate.

Who the session is for

For runners, cyclists and swimmers who want to breathe more efficiently, for people who breathe through the mouth, snore or wake up tired, for anyone with stiff hips, shoulders or spine who wants mobility they can control, and for those who like a method with a clear structure and measurable progress. No experience is needed. Tell your teacher about injuries, pregnancy or a heart condition before the session.

How to start

Book in the schedule on this page with your email address; there is no app to install. The first visit is simplest with the Guest Pass for CHF 40: one session, valid for seven days. After that, a pack of ten or twenty classes or a Movement membership from CHF 370 a month covers every class in both rooms. You can cancel in your account up to 24 hours before the class and the credit returns to your pass. Grip socks and a small towel are the only equipment; bring both.
