Breathwork uses conscious breathing to influence the nervous system. Specific rhythms of inhale, exhale and pause shift the body from alertness towards recovery. Combined with gentle movement and music, the session creates space to slow down and find balance again.

Fifty minutes of breath, movement and sound

The session opens with gentle movement to free the ribs and the diaphragm. Then the breathing begins: guided rhythms, lying down, with music that holds the tempo. Your teacher explains each technique before you use it.

The techniques are grounded in physiology: longer exhales lower the heart rate, held breaths train tolerance, connected breathing releases tension. Sensations in the hands or the body are normal and your teacher guides you through them.

The last part is rest. The body is quiet, the mind clearer. Many people sleep better the night after. Fourteen places, in the Aura Room.

What is Breathwork?

Breathwork is the deliberate use of breathing patterns to influence the nervous system. Specific rhythms of inhale, exhale and pause shift the body between alertness and recovery: longer exhales lower the heart rate, held breaths train tolerance, connected breathing releases tension that the body holds without noticing. The techniques are old; the physiology behind them is well described.

At Anida Lab Breathwork is combined with gentle movement and music, so that the session creates space to slow down and realign with the body rather than a technical exercise.

What happens in a Breathwork session at Anida Lab

Sessions in the Aura Room last fifty minutes and take up to fourteen people. They open with gentle movement to free the ribs and the diaphragm, then the breathing begins: guided rhythms, lying down, with music that holds the tempo. Your teacher explains each technique before you use it and stays with the room throughout. The last part is rest.

Sensations such as tingling in the hands, warmth or emotion are common and pass. Many people sleep better the night after.

What changes with regular practice

A calmer nervous system and a slower resting heart rate, less tension in the chest, the neck and the jaw, a clearer head and better sleep, and a tool you can use on your own, at your desk or before bed. Breathwork is also one of the most effective ways to recover from hard training.

Who Breathwork is for

For people under sustained stress who sleep badly or wake up tired, for anyone who trains hard and recovers slowly, for those who have tried to meditate and found it difficult, because the breath gives the mind a task, and for complete beginners. Tell your teacher before the session if you are pregnant or have a heart condition, epilepsy or a recent surgery; some techniques are then left out or softened.

Breathwork or Oxygen Advantage?

Both train the breath. Breathwork uses stronger rhythms, music and movement to release tension and shift the nervous system within one session. Oxygen Advantage® is a functional breathing method: nasal breathing, light breathing and breath holds that change how you breathe all day, combined with FRC® mobility work. For a reset, choose Breathwork; for a method with measurable progress over weeks, choose Oxygen Advantage.

How to start

After that, a pack of ten or twenty classes or a Movement membership from CHF 370 a month covers every class in both rooms. You can cancel in your account up to 24 hours before the class and the credit returns to your pass. Grip socks and a small towel are the only equipment; bring both.
